FIR under Atrocities Act registered against suspended administrator of Market Yard

A 45-year-old woman has lodged a complaint (96/23) at the Market Yard police station. Accordingly, an FIR under Atrocities Act has been registered against the suspended administrator of Krushi Utpanna Bazar Samiti Madhukant Garad, Dattatraya Kalamkar, Sambhaji Kajle, Amol Ghule and 25 others. The incident took place from July 2022 till February 2023 at the Market Yard.
According to the police, the complaint has a business of selling lemons at the Market Yard. Madhukant Garad assaulted the complaint, stole her stock of lemons and abused her by using casteist slurs and accused her of spoiling the atmosphere at the Market Yard by selling lemons there. Some employees of Krushi Utpanna Bazar Samiti came there and threw away the sign boards and bags containing lemons and touched the complainant and spoke in an obscene manner.
One day, while the complainant was selling lemons, Madhukant Garad made obscene gestures while looking at her and molested her, the complaint states. ACP Pornima Taware is probing the case.
