Police Lathi charge on Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti Rally in Belgaum

NPNEWS24 ONLINE- The dispute of Belgaum border has been always a subject of conflict. Still, the government doesn’t find any solutions over this. The Black Day is celebrated on the behalf of the Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (Maharashtra Integration Committee) in Belgaum, in protest against the addition of other Marathi language speaking parts along with Belgaum to Karnataka.

A silent march and cycle rally had been organized against the addition of some parts like Belgaum, Bidar, Bhalki into the Karnataka. This cycle rally was arranged by Maharashtra Integration Committee on Thursday morning.

A large number of Marathi youth participated in this rally in Karnataka. But according to the information, strongly Police opposed to this rally. The Police lathi charged on the people who have participated in the rally.

1st November is celebrated as a black day in Belgaum today against the against the addition of Belgaum, Bidar, Bhalki into the Karnataka. In order to protest the Karnataka government, the cycle rally was organized by the Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti today. The Karnataka Police have lathi charged on this rally.

At this time, the demand was made for the addition of Marathi-speaking areas Bidar and Bhalki along with Belgaum in Maharashtra. The Karnataka State was formed on 1st November. At this time, the Marathi-speaking part like Bidar, Bhalki, Karwar along with Belgaum was added in Karnataka.

On this day, Karnataka celebrates ‘Karnataka Rajyotsav’  in Belgaum. For opposing it, a silent cycle rally is being organized by the Marathi people for last 63 years.

During today’s rally, there was confusion due to some Kannada activists joined the rally with Red and Yellow flags near Belgaum Goa Wes circle. This is why the police lathi charged on the silent cycle rallies of Marathi youth. There was confusion because of cracking the crackers.
