Pune: Metro railway network will be expanded to strengthen public transport – Murlidhar Mohol

Pune : Maha Yuti-BJP Lok Sabha candidate Murlidhar Mohol has expressed confidence that his party would strengthen public transport systems by expanding the Metro railway network, along with PMPML services, ST bus and auto-rickshaw services. This will speed up traffic, reduce pollution and ease congestion in the city.

A poll rally was held for Mohol in the Vadgaon Sheri Assembly Constituency, which passed through the Kalas, Dhanori, Vishrantwadi, Phule Nagar areas. MLA Sunil Tingre, former MLA Jadgish Mulik, Bapu Pathare, Satish Maske, Yogesh Mulik, Anil Tingre, Dr Siddharth Dhende, Mangesh Gole, Ashok Kamble, Shankar Sangam, Rekha Tingre, Shashikant Tingre, and Aishwarya Jadhav participated in the rally.

Mohol said, “The Metro project was delayed for over a decade. After the BJP came to power, the first phase from Swargate to Pimpri and Vanaz to Ramwadi was implemented after Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the ground-breaking ceremony and then inaugurated it. The Shivajinagar-Hinjawadi Metro route work is underway.”

Mohol added, “There was a need for time-bound strengthening of public transport in the city. We are fulfilling it through Pune Metro. The Metro network expansion is necessary for strengthening public transport. The proposed new metro routes are Swargate to Katraj (5.4 km), Pimpri to Nigdi (4.4 km), Vanaz to Chandni Chowk (1.5 km), Ramwadi to Wagholi (12 km), Hadapsar to Kharadi (5 km), Swargate to Hadapsar (7 km), Swargate to Khadakwasla (13 km) and SNDT to Warje (8 km).
