Lover tied and burnt alive by girlfriend’s father 

LUCKNOW: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE– Seems like there is no full-stop to the cases of honour killing as the incidents are prevailing each day, each moment vigorously.

In a gruesome incident, a 22-year-old man who came over to his girlfriend’s house to give a marriage proposal and talk to her parents was allegedly burnt alive by girlfriend’s father.

This incident of honour killing took place in Etah district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday afternoon.

When the 22-year-old reached to her girl’s house, he was immediately tied to a cot by girl’s father and other two. Then, they poured kerosene on him and burnt him alive.

Although during the honour killing, the girl was kept out of all this and she was unaware of this heinous act.

The couple were in love and wanted to get married whereas, the girl’s parents did not support their love affair.

The victim, Narendra Shakya is a resident of Dalhai village went to meet his girlfriend’s father who is a resident of Geva Asadulahpur village after an invitation.

According to sources, “When the victim arrived at their house, the girl’s family members tied him to a cot. Her father along with relatives Dayaram and Umesh poured kerosene on the youth and set him on fire”, senior police officer Sanjay Kumar said.

The accused father and his relative Dayaram have been arrested by the police while Umesh is still absconding. The police are still in search of the accused.

According to police, the accused has been booked by the police under sections 307( attempt of murder), 342( wrongful confinement), 326( voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means).

The incidents of honour killing have become a trend in society will it never come to an end? When will the Indian citizens change their mentality and stop committing such acts?
