Pimpri Chinchwad Police Launches Major Crackdown On Criminals Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

Pimpri-Chinchwad: In a proactive move aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police, under the leadership of Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey, has initiated stringent measures to tackle criminal activities in the region. A comprehensive action plan has been devised to uphold transparency and impartiality, with a focus on maintaining a secure environment for voters.

As part of this concerted effort, the Police Commissioner has authorised the application of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against three persistent criminal gangs operating within the Pimpri, Wakad, and Nigdi police jurisdictions. A total of 17 criminals from Wakad, Mahalunge, Chikhali, Dehuroad, and Pimpri areas have been declared tadipar, while three have been detained, in a bid to curb organised criminal activities.

Under MCOCA provisions, the Suraj Kirwale gang in the Pimpri police station limits has been targeted, with key members including Suraj Uttam Kirwale (age 24 resident of Gharkul, Chikhli), Yash alias Kailas Bhosle (age 21 resident of River Road, Pimpri), Avinash Prakash Mane (age 22 resident of Boudhnagar, Pimpri), and Ganesh Jamdade (Bhatnagar, Pimpri) facing charges encompassing serious offences such as murder, attempted murder, robbery, and possession of illegal firearms. A case under IPC 307, 323, 504, 506, 34, the Arm Act, and the Maharashtra Police Act has been registered against all these accused.

Similarly, 12 individuals associated with the Rohit Khatal gang in Wakad have been booked under MCOCA, with cases spanning various criminal acts, including attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, and possession of illegal weapons. The accused, Rohit Mohan Khatal, Sahil Hanif Patel, Rishikesh Hari Atole, Shubham Chandrakant Panchal, Aniket Anil Pawar, Pritam Sunil Bhosale, Shiv Shankar Shamrao Jirge, and many other members of the group have been booked under different sections of the IPC. Several cases are registered against them in the Beed, Ahmednagar, and Pimpri-Chinchwad areas.

Additionally, criminals such as Aman Pujari, Shivam Sunil Dubey, and Ratna Mithailal Barud from the Aman Pujari gang in Nigdi have been subjected to MCOCA action for their involvement in murder-related offences.

Notorious criminal Sandesh, alias Shilvya Lazarus Chopde (Residing Amardeep Colony, Kalewadi), on record at Wakad Police Station has been booked under MPDA. 14 cases have been registered against him. Aniket, alias Gudya Sanjay Metkare, a resident of Ganeshnagar Colony, Dighi, has three serious crimes registered against him at the Dighi Police Station. Deepak Suresh Mohite of Pimpri Police Station (a resident of Nehru Nagar) has been booked for 10 serious crimes and has been booked in Yerwada Central Jail after taking action under the MPDA Act.

Furthermore, the police have implemented measures to address recidivist criminal activities, with 17 individuals facing Tadipar (banishment) orders ranging from one to two years. Notable among these are Anand Kishore Valmiki, Ashish Eknath Shete, Rohit Rajaswamy, and Rishikesh Adagale, hailing from different police station limits within Pimpri Chinchwad.

The successful execution of these operations was made possible through the concerted efforts of Assistant Police Inspector Nita Ubale, Crime Branch PCB Assistant Police Inspector Varsha Jagdale, Sub-Inspector Suhas Patole, and dedicated police constables under the guidance of top police officials, including Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police Crime Sandeep Doifode, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 1 Swapna Gore, among others.

Furthermore, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police has taken stringent action against 17 recidivist criminals across various police station jurisdictions, imposing Tadipar (banishment) orders ranging from one to two years. The individuals facing Tadipar include:

At the Wakad Police Station:

  1. Anand Kishore Valmiki (29), residing at Kala Khadak, Wakad, is sentenced to 2 years of Tadipar.
  2. Ashish Eknath Shete (24), resident of Nakhate Vasti, Rahatni, is facing 1 year of Tadipar.

At the Dehur Road Police Station:

  1. Rohit alias Gabraya Rajaswamy (22), residing at MB Camp, Dehurod, is imposed with a 1-year Tadipar.
  2. Rishikesh alias Sherya Adagale (24), residing in Gandhinagar, Dehur Road, faces 2 years of Tadipar.

At the Mahalunge Police Station:

  1. Sanket Manik Kolekar (22), residing in Dhamane, Taluka Khed, is sentenced to 2 years of Tadipar.

At the Chikhli Police Station:

  1. Aakash Babu Nadwin Mani (21), residing in More Vasti, Chikhli, is facing 2 years of Tadipar.

At the Pimpri Police Station:

  1. Suraj Ramharak Jaiswal (21), resident of Nehrunagar, Pimpri, is imposed with 2 years of Tadipar.
  2. Shubham Raju Waghmare (22), resident of Nehrunagar, Pimpri, is sentenced to 2 years of Tadipar.
  3. Vrishab Nandu Jadhav (21), resident of Indiranagar Chinchwad, is facing 2 years of Tadipar.
  4. Shekhar alias Baka Babu Bote (20), resident of Indiranagar Chinchwad, is imposed with 2 years of Tadipar.
  5. Shubham Ashok Chandane (19), resident of Indiranagar Chinchwad, faces 2 years of Tadipar.
  6. Shantaram Maruti Vitkar (34), resident of Indiranagar Chinchwad, is sentenced to 2 years of Tadipar.
  7. Anurag Dutta Dangde (19), resident of Indiranagar Chinchwad, is facing 2 years of Tadipar.
  8. Sagar Dnyandev Dhaware (20), resident of Milindnagar, Pimpri, is imposed with 2 years of Tadipar.
  9. Pankaj Dilip Pawar (32), a resident of Chinchwad, is sentenced to 2 years of Tadipar.
  10. Sonya, alias Mahesh Shwensiddha Kamble (21), a resident of Dattanagar Chinchwad, is facing 2 years of Tadipar.
  11. Anand Namdev Danane (31), resident of Vidyanagar, Chinchwad, was imposed with 2 years of Tadipar.
