Pune: Gym in Sadashiv Peth Robbed of Over 73 Lakhs Worth of Cash and Valuables

Pune: A staggering sum of 73 lakh 38 thousand 515 rupees, comprising cash and valuables, was reported stolen from CT Barbell Club, Gym TCG Scare, located in Pune’s Sadashiv Peth, in a prolonged theft spanning from September 2022 to June 2023. The shocking incident prompted the Vishrambaug police to spring into action, registering a case against six individuals implicated in the crime.

The complaint, lodged by a 62-year-old resident of Karve Road, unfolded on Wednesday (21st), escalating concerns over the rampant theft and assault allegations plaguing the gym establishment. The case, under IPC sections 323, 427, 428, 451, 453, 454, 504, 506, and 34, was filed against Rahul Haribhakt, Sankade Haribhakt, Aryan Haribhakt, Vivekananda S. Kisarkar, Vinayak Keshav Bapat, and Avinash Anand Jadhav.

According to police reports, the complainant, who owns the gym in Sadashiv Peth, shared acquaintances with the accused individuals. Allegations surfaced that the accused was perpetrating a series of verbal abuses and physical assaults against the plaintiff. Amidst the gym’s temporary closure, the accused capitalised on the opportunity, orchestrating a calculated theft of cash and valuables from the premises.

In response to the harrowing ordeal, the plaintiff sought legal recourse, petitioning the court for intervention. The judiciary’s directive compelled law enforcement to initiate a thorough investigation, leading to the registration of a case against the six accused individuals under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Further investigation is being conducted by Police Sub-Inspector Santosh More.
