Prostitution Racket Busted: Two Women Rescued, Lodge Owner Arrested in Pimpri Chinchwad

Pimpri-Chinchwad: The Prostitution Cell of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police dismantled a clandestine prostitution operation operating within a lodge in the Vadmukhwadi area of Dighi. The swift action, conducted on Tuesday (20th) at approximately 6:30 p.m., culminated in the rescue of two women and the apprehension of the lodge owner.

Nitin Raosaheb Kokre (28), a resident of Vishrantwadi, Pune, found himself at the centre of the investigation, facing charges under IPC 370 and the Prevention of Immoral Traffic in Persons Act. The case was brought forth by Police Constable Maruti Mahadev Karchunde, who filed a formal complaint at the Dighi police station.

The operation was set in motion following intelligence suggesting illicit activities at the Sunshine Lodge on Khadimsheen Road in Vadmukhwadi. Acting on this tip-off, law enforcement orchestrated a sting operation, sending an undercover officer to confirm the presence of a prostitution business. Upon verification, a raid was promptly conducted, leading to the rescue of two women who had fallen victim to the exploitative scheme.

Investigations revealed that the accused had lured the women with promises of monetary gain, subsequently trapping them within the confines of the lodge to engage in prostitution. It was further uncovered that the accused sustained himself financially through the proceeds garnered from this illicit trade.

Women Assistant Police Sub Inspector Pardhi has been tasked with spearheading the ongoing investigation.
