Pune is stepping toward the smart concept but it seem the smart provision and smart vision is missing.

Daily on an average around lakhs of people travel by the public transport bus services but left with red and pest off condition as the  Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) buses, 165 buses broke down on Friday as against the daily average of 70-75 breakdowns.

Usually, around 4500 passengers land in choatic condition on daily bases due to the breakdowns. However, Friday saw 8,250 passengers being left in the helpless situation.

As per information of PMPML officials record around 165 buses broke down, of which 70 belonged to PMPML and 95 were of contractors. The number is one of the highest this year, after continuous breakdowns which mean on an average 95-100 every day reported during the monsoon season.

However, the authorities has claim that the bus breakdowns will soon be mutually settled  and said, “During monsoon, we received several complaints every day. Now the system of towing the buses has improved. Whenever a bus breakdown is reported, a nearby depot is responsible for towing the bus to ensure that there is no traffic jam. We know that passengers have to suffer a lot, but we arrange other buses for them,” said a PMPML official.

Citizen claim the fuel prices are souring up and also the in Pune city the traffic is left with mess and assumed that bus transport is an effective way to travel but left with hardship lesson.
