Pune based criminal lawyer fired

In a shocking incident, Pune based senior criminal noted  lawyer was shot by unidentified person on Monday evening when he was on his way to home from the court proceeding.
To condemn the attack, lawyers from Pune Bar Association (PBA) will abstain from work in all courts in Pune district today. At 12 noon, they will assemble at gate no. 4 to protest.

The police have identified the injuried lawyer as Dayanand Ratnakar Dhokne (43), from Yerawada. He is critical and at present he is undergoing a treatment at Koregoan Park based private  hospital.

The process of registering the offence has been going on with Yerawada police station which falls under the jurisdiction of Pune city commissionerate. The Pune city police’s crime branch is investigating the case.

Dhokne is senior criminal lawyer practicing in Pune and High court.

According to police, ” it seem Post work from Shivajinagar court he was heading back home using Samgamwadi road where the assilant fire round on him. It seem the bullet has peried his head and brushed. He is critical and undergoing a treatment at intensive care unit of a private hospital.”

He added, ” we are probing the case and also inspecting the CCTV camera footage. The incident took place around 8.45 pm near Samgamwadi road. We are probing the case in a the angle wheather it is some past enmity or criminal cases or other. The family is in grief and we soon will be speaking to them. Our team is investigating and we shall arrest the accused soon.”
