Owner of Cryptobiz company Rahul Rathod and his aide Omkar Sonvane arrested for cheating investors of ₹3 crore

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Crime News | The owner of a cryptobiz company has been arrested by the Pune cyber police for duping investors of ₹2.93 crore by telling them that he will get huge returns if he invests money in cryptobiz exchange staking programme. (Pune Crime News)

 

The accused has been identified as Rahul Vjaybhai Rathod (35), a resident of Bluerich Society, Hinjewadi. His close aide Omkar Deepak Sonvane (25), a resident of Kondhwa, has been arrested. Ravi Shankar Patil had lodged a complaint with the Pune cyber police. After an FIR was registered, the police launched a search for them and arrested them within 24 hours.

 

According to the police, Rahul Rathod told Patil that he will get huge returns if he invests money in cryptobiz exchange. Accordingly, Patil invested money. Initially, he was earning profits but later, Rathod stopped giving him profits. Patil tried to contact the accused many times. But since he could not contact them, he lodged a complaint with the Pune cyber police. It came to light that 43 others had been cheated of ₹2.93 crore.

 

On the basis of technical education, the police found their whereabouts. A two-wheeler, a four-wheeler, laptop, mobile, pen drive and other electronic gadgets have been seized from them.

 

The action was taken under the guidance of DCP Srinivas Ghadge of Economic offences Wing and Cyber crime branch, Sr PI Minal Supe Patil by a team of officials including PI Chandrashekhar Sawant, PSI Tushar Bhosale, PSI Sachin Jadhav, PSI Sandeep Kadam, policemen Santosh Jadhav, Navnath Konde, Pravin Rajput, Bapu Lonkar.
