Married woman throat slit in the toilet; Husband, 3 others suspected

In a shocking incident, a Pune based married woman was throat slit in the toilet. The deceased’s husband and 3 others are being suspected in this case.

The incident took place at Shive village, which comes under Khed Tehsil on Sunday at around 6:45 am. Suman Lahu Shivkare (50), mother of the deceased lodged a complaint in Chakan police station.

Darshana Prakash Karke (25) is the name of the deceased. A case has been registered against the suspects regarding the case who are deceased’s husband and 3 others.

According to sources, the deceased was troubled frequently by her in-laws. Since after marriage, her husband and in-laws used to constantly torture her and was already distressed. There were frequent disputes taking place at their home.

According to the information given by the police, the couple Prakash and Darshana have married a year ago. On Sunday morning, Darshana went to the toilet. After which she did not return for a long time and soon family members started looking for her. After a while, she was found unconscious behind her house.

Chakan police immediately rushed to the spot to probe the case. The deceased was immediately sent to the hospital for treatment but she died in the meanwhile.

Police have arrested the suspects under the PWDVA act which is Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act under the Indian penal code. In this case, police have arrested husband Prakash Rabaji karke, brother-in-law Santosh Rabaji karke and father-in-law Rabaji Chindu Karke. Police is still probing into the case for further details.

If it’s a case of domestic violence, strict action will be taken against the suspects such is being said by the police. And, many such cases hit the headlines every now and then and women who keep mum and tolerate such incidents commit even more heinous crime.
