Thailand’s Army Chief visit Dagdusheth Ganpati

Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati is famous in over India, which is honor and pride of Pune city. Devotees come to pray, from all over India as well as abroad too. Devotees including various celebrities and politicians’ visit, especially during the 10 days of Ganesh festival.

In 2018’s Ganesh festival, Thailand’s army chief Lieutenant General Kokarte Bukhao visited Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati on Monday. Army Chief, along with Army Officers of Thailand, took Darshan and Aarti of Ganpati, who came for military training in Pune.

They visited to Dagadusheth, as Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati Trust and Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal celebrating their 126th year of Ganesh festival celebration. This year, they set up a 100 ft by 100 ft replica of the 11th century Brihadisvara Temple, Thanjavur.

Dagduseth Ganpati Trust has worked for social welfare and cultural activities. Trustees and activists including Sunil Ras, Mahesh Suryavanshi, Ulhas Bhat and others were present on this occasion.

Along with the military officials of Thailand, former President of India Pratibha Tai Patil, Devisingh Shekhawat also took a Darshan and took aarti. However, former minister Babasaheb Thorat, visited Ganapati.  At this time the trust honoured the guest.

 

According to the people of Pune and all over Maharashtra, Ganeshotsav is incomplete without visiting Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Temple. This temple, decorated with gold, is about 125 years old. This temple gives chance to local people to appreciate our rich culture and heritage.

On the occasion of completion of 126 years, to make Ganesh Chaturthi more special, in year 2018, 126 kg of modaks or sweets which are favourite of Lord Ganesha were offered to Lord Ganesha at Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple.

Recently, thousands of women gathered to recite Atharvashirsha, at this temple on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi and also transgenders came to this temple to offer prayers.

This is 31st year, and women gathered on this occasion with lot of enthusiasm and excitement. If you meet any person living in Pune, he will definitely narrate you the beauty of this historic Ganpati temple!
