Man demands ransom from woman by threatening to publish CDR data during wedding ceremony in Wakad
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Pimpri Chinchwad Crime | A man demanded an extortion of Rs 1 lakh from a woman by threatening to defame her by screening data and CDR data during her wedding ceremony. A case has been registered against the unknown mobile phone holder. The incident took place between 8:30 pm on February 2 and 12 am on February 5. (Pune Pimpri Chinchwad Crime)
A 32-year-old woman lodged a complaint at the Wakad Police Station on Monday. Accordingly, a case under section 384 of IPC has been filed against the holder of mobile number 7488842680.
According to the police, the complainant received a call from the number 7488842680. The caller told the complainant that he had her data and CDR data. He threatened to broadcast this on screen during the wedding ceremony to be held on February 10. He initially demanded an extortion of Rs 50,000 and then Rs 1 lakh, if the data is not to be screened. The complainant lodged a complaint against the unknown person at Wakad police on Monday.
