The sale of the book written on Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev has been banned by the Delhi High Court. It is being claimed that there is something to defame in it.

Journalist Priyanka Pathak Narayan has wrote this book on Ramdev Baba. The name of the book written on Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev is “Godman to Tycoon: The Untold Story of Baba Ramdev”. The book was published on July 29 last year

Ramdev has claimed that the book is “extremely defamatory”, and “infringed his right to privacy”, the book authored by Priyanka Pathak Narayan, was published in July 2017 but on a complaint by Ramdev, a Delhi civil court prohibited the publication and sale on August 4, 2017.

In the petition it has been said that this book is based on Ramdev Baba’s life, and the book is written in an insulting way, this will harm his image and also will create a financial problem. Ramdev baba was unhappy with the decision of the local court and approached to High Court. High Court ordered to reinstates the ban on the publication and sale of the book.

The High Court banned the publication of the book saying that the book which is written on the man is a living person, who deserves respect. The court said that under Article 21 of the Constitution of India, the right to live a dignified life of a person cannot be cured by another person’s right to freedom.

It had also restrained M/s Amazon India and M/s Flipkart Internet Pvt Ltd from selling the book online and said any pending delivery of the book be stopped immediately.
