Elgaar Parishad case: Gautam Navlakha released from house arrest

Finally, the activists who were fighting for the release of the release of arrested five activists in the case of Elgaar Parishad out of which one is released from house arrest by Delhi Police.

On Monday, Delhi High court stopped transit remand and removed from house arrest. Navlakha’s custody has been increased to 24 increased.

While releasing from house arrest The Delhi High Court canceled its transit remand petition on Monday and escorted him out of jail. Navalakha’s custody has been extended to 24 hours. However, it is not possible to grant a further increase in this, the court said while removing house arrest.

In the Elgaar Parishad case, Varvara Rao, Arun Farrera, Varnon Gosalvis, Sudha Bharadwaj and Gautam Navlakha are five persons who have been lodged in their own house since August 29 in the Elgaar Parishad Case. Navlakha has now been released from house arrest.

The SIT demanded the social workers be released from house arrest. However, the Supreme Court has shown a red signal to everyone’s release apart from Gautam Navlakha.

Meanwhile, Historian Romila Thapar had also demanded a proper inquiry by the SIT on the house arrest of the five persons. This demand was made by historian Romila Thapar. However, but the Supreme Court has dismissed their demand.

Earlier Romila Thapar had filed a petition against arrest of five activists.

Elgaar Parishad is an event to mark the 200th year of the battle of Koregaon which Dalits observe as the victory over the upper-class groups.
