Autorickshaw driver dies by suicide by jumping into quarry in Dhanori after being assaulted by women

Since he was angry after suffering humiliation of being assaulted by women, an autorickshaw driver died by suicide after jumping into a quarry in Dhanori. (Pune Crime News)
The deceased has been identified as Ajay Shivaji Tingre (42), a resident of Dhanori Gaon. His wife Ashwini Tingre has lodged a complaint (84/23) at the Vishrantwadi police station. Accordingly, the police have registered an FIR against four people including Navnath Hanumant Tingre.
According to the police, Ajay Tingre came home drunk on the night of March 23. He started hurling abuses by standing outside his house. Their neighbours told his wife to reason with him. After a complaint was made by dialling 112, the police arrived. After they talked with Ajay, he went home and slept. On the next day, the neighbours entered Tingre’s house and started assaulting him. They brought him outside the house. The complainant requested the neighbours not to beat up her husband but they told her that he deserves to be assaulted. Since locals started gathering at the spot, the neighbours left.
The complainant started going to the police station to lodge a complaint. Her daughter dialled 112 to lodge a complaint. Meanwhile, Ajay Tingre went out on his two-wheeler. His daughter and an acquaintance followed him. Since he found it humiliating that he was assaulted by women, Ajay tried to jump into a quarry on Vishrantwadi-Dhanori road. His acquaintance tried to stop him. However, he jumped into the quarry. The acquaintance tried to search for him but his body had not been found. The Vishrantwadi police are probing the incident.
