Five years down the line after the anti-superstition crusader Dr Narendra Dabholkar who was gun shot by the suspected members of right wing outfit. The members of Maharashtra Andh-shraddha Nirmulan Samiti (ANIS) claims that never in their homage or tribute to Dr Dabholkar, the guardian minister was part of it.

On August 20, 2013, Dr Dabholkar was shot-dead by two unidentified person on a motorbike at Omkareshwar Bridge in Pune on wee hours of morning. In Dr Dabholkar murder case, the police have arrested few people who has link with Sanatan Sanstha and they had been found by investigation police.

ANIS had organised a press conference to inform about their event taking place on August 19 and 20 in Pune city. This year too they have planned an “Jawab Do” agitation across Maharashtra. Few question have been laid down before government which they are looking forward for positive and effective implementation.

Volunteer Nandini Jadhav said, “we have organised Maharashtra state protest under the theme of Jawab Do, not only in Maharashtra, even in Delhi, our volunteers have lined up various event. In Pune, we have organised various programme since August 19 and 20. We all will be gathering at the spot where Dr Dabholkar was shot dead and a candle light march will also be organised.”

Another volunteer Milind Deshmukh said, “This year, it’s been five years still the reason of killing Dr Dabholkar is unclear and the police have still to reach the roots. The way the murder case of journalist Gauri Lankesh was investigated by Bangalore police and reached the root cause and in all the murder cases like Dr Dabholkar, Comrade leader Govind Pansare, Prof M M Kulburgi in similar modus, all these cases has links with Sanstha.”

He added, “We are upset with Pune guardian minister Girish Bapat as despite we every month gather at the bridge where Dr Dabholkar was gun down. He never turned up even once despite his house and this area is his juridiction. This portray the way he have regard and importance to Dr Dabholkar. We are satisfied with the government taking action against Santha as the recent arrest of such members have found how sensitive they too have become and realised that such outfit is harmful to all.”
