Anil Deshmukh | Court gives jolt to former home minister Anil Deshmukh
Mumbai: Deccan Express Anil Deshmukh | A petition had been submitted in the court seeking permission for carrying out surgery in a private hospital, on the shoulder of NCP leader and former home minister Anil Deshmukh, who is in jail in connection with a money laundering case. However, the court has refused permission to Deshmukh.
Anil Deshmukh suffers from shoulder pain and hence, he had sought permission of the Mumbai Sessions Court to undergo surgery of the shoulder in a private hospital. The court has given a jolt to Deshmukh and told him to undergo surgery at JJ Hospital in Mumbai. During treatment, a person from Deshmukh’s family can be present with him, the court said.
The JJ Hospital does not have modern facilities and considering the age, Deshmukh had sought permission to undergo operation in a private hospital instead of a government hospital. However, the ED had opposed his plea saying there was no need for Deshmukh to undergo an operation immediately. It had also said that the operation can take place in a government hospital instead of a private hospital.
