Pune builder robbed after being kidnapped; forcefully confined after demanding ransom of Rs 2 lakh

Pune : Deccan Express –  A builder was looted after he was called on the pretext of constructing a structure in Mundhwa and was kidnapped and confined to a room.

A 32-year-old builder staying in Bibvewadi has lodged a complaint at the Mundhwa police station. Accordingly, the police have filed a case against Nayan Ganesh Patole, a resident of Nana Peth, Ajay Thorat, Nazim Syed and their 2/3 aides. The incident took place on May 10 from 8.15 pm to 7 am on May 11 opposite the petrol pump in Mundhwa and Laxmi Nagar in Yerawada.

According to the police, the complainant has a small construction business. Nazim Syed told the complainant that he wanted to construct a structure on two gunthas in Mundhwa and asked him to visit the area. The complainant went with Naim and Ajay Thorat to see the land. Nayan Patole and his aides forcefully confined the complainant to a room and beat him up. Later, they took him to a furniture shop located on the main road from Mundhwa to Tadigupta Chowk and thrashed him and sought a ransom of Rs 2 lakh.

Later, they made him sit on a two-wheeler with his friend Vicky Palkar and took him to Laxmi Nagar in Yerawada. The complainant was threatened with a sickle and was told that he will be killed. They took away his two-wheeler, mobile and Rs 12, 000 cash totalling Rs 47,000. The complainant was scared and he lodged a complaint on Thursday.

Senior PI Brahmanand Naikwadi is investigating the case.
