Accidents continue on Samruddhi Mahamarg: Three persons including two women doctors killed as car rams into truck
WARDHA : NpNews24 Online – Samruddhi Mahamarg Accident | Many accidents are happening on the Samruddhi Mahamarg every day resulting in deaths of many people. A Wagon R car travelling from Yavatmal to Nagpur rammed into a truck resulting in the death of two women doctors and another person. It took the police two hours to rescue those who were trapped in the car. (Samruddhi Mahamarg Accident)
The deceased have been identified as Dr Jyoti Kshirsagar, a resident of Malegaon, Washim district, Dr Falguni Surwade, a resident of Amravati and Bharat Kshirsagar, a resident of Malegaon, Washim district. The accident took place in Mahabala area of Selu taluka at 12.30 am.
According to the police, Surwade and Kshirsgar were friends. A truck was proceeding from Yavatmal to Nagpur. Three persons were travelling by a Wagon R behind the truck. The car was being driven by a woman and she could not spot the car while driving. The driver saw the truck after going near it but due to overspeeding, the woman lost control of the car and rammed into the truck. PSI Dilip Thate and his colleagues of Jam Highway police chowki reached the accident spot. The three passengers were stuck in the car and they could be rescued only after two hours.
The drivers of vehicles find it difficult to control the speed of their vehicles on the highway which is in a straight line. Hence, the number of accidents is increasing on the Samruddhi Mahamarg.
