AC bus ticket rates drop by 25 percent

Regional Transport Authority has reduced the fare charge of AC bus of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal limited (PMPML). The rate was reduced to make the AC buses more popular among passengers. Most of the time, Passengers avoids traveling by this AC buses because of its High fare charges, Thus the Transport Cor-poration is-not making profits from these buses. Because of this, they decided to reduce The fare charges of AC bus. In which they reduced the rate by 25 percent.

“These buses are running at less than half of their capacity, So we need to cut the fare charges to invite more passengers to travel in this bus at low cost. These buses are costly and also need a high maintenance cost to Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited”, said by an official.

In order to provide a comfortable journey to the passengers, PMPML had started serve of AC buses on 10 different routes of the city. But the ticket prices of these AC buses were high. Because of this, most people preferring other buses to travel. Earlier in the month of February, PMPML has started new AC buses on the route of Pune station to Hinjewadi phase 3 and from Hadapsar to Nigdi.  This buses mainly Started with aim of for IT professionals to use this public transport buses.

 

Now AC bus service is on the route of Hinjewadi to Pune Airport, Nigdi to Bhakti Shakti Chowk and Harpasar to Bhakti Shakti Chowk (Nigdi).

AC bus, on the route from Hinjewadi to Pune Airport, was used to charge 180 rupees. Which is now 110 rupees. The same AC bus on Nigdi to katraj and Hadapsar to Nigdi used to charge Rs 100 which is now reduced to 70 rupees. Hopefully, the passengers will use it after the reduced rate, said bu Mahamandal.
