Prime Minister Narendra Modi is promoting Swachh Bharath Mission (Clean India Mission) with great enthusiasm at every corner of the country. Every individual working on this mission at his level. Country’s every village, every city should become clean, it was the dream of Mahatma Gandhi. Now, PM Narendra Modi has taking further steps in it. For contributing to this mission, every individual, various organizations, schools, colleges are coming forward.

As a part of this mission, Pune’s two families set down a very good example. They are making organic fertilizers out of kitchen waste instead of throwing it on roads or dustbins. It can be used for making soil more fertile.

This organic fertilizers can be used for producing flowers, fruits and vegetables. There are around 5 thousands of organic farms or gardens in Pune city. Where people make fertilizers by composing the dry and wet garbage and using this fertilizers at their house terrace for farming or gardening.

Ritu Bhagawat, a resident of Katraj area of Pune have started the same organic farming with help of another family. This farm is like a garden. They are producing verity of fruits like Strawberries, Pears, Anjeer and pomegranates and vegetables. Different types of flowers like rose, Jasmine, etc.

You might get shock by hearing that, they have developed this whole farm only within three months at the level of 40 feet from round. They haven’t used any other fertilizers for this farming. They are using only the waste which comes out of their kitchen and dry garbage. You may not be live that, this is a terrace of house, after seeing it’s greenery.

Actually, Bhagwat family were also dumping their kitchen at municipal corporation’s van like other families, but most of the time this van was not coming for 10 days for taking the garbage. That’s why people were throwing this directly on roads. Bhagwat was upset by seeing such kind of scenes. They had enough space at their terrace. Then, they have thought about the utilize this space and kitchen waste for making terrace garden.

While talking to NP News, Samir Pawar said that they are doing organic farming from last 14 years, where you can see various kinds of fruits, flowers and vegetables etc. They have started all these before 14 years ago with flowers only, later on they expands it with fruits and vegetables. He further added that, they are making this organic fertilizers by 30% of kitchen wastage and 70% dry garbage of whole society.

They are collecting whole society’s dry garbage and storing it in closed drum by mixing it with wet garbage and cow dunk. This drum has holes for passing the air. They kept it almost for three months, later on which coverts in organic fertilizer and get utilized for vegetables, fruits and flowers.

While giving a message, Samir Sandesh said that, everyone should come forward in this field. All people can make fertilizers by composing the wet and dry garbage at home. Even people can earn money out of this by selling it.

Anil Jodage has also developed the same terrace garden around 90 ft height. He is doing it from last 10 years.

So, this is how all these people making best out of waste and contributing to Swachh Bharat Mission. Many people including doctors, architectures visits to this fertilizer making model. Even they have guided 2-3 ladies group for this project.
