AURANGABAD: NPNEWS4 ONLINE- We have seen plundering of land and gold till now, but the farmers of Osmanabad have decided to mortgage the village. Now, farmers from the village of Osmanabad district are going to mortgage the village for helping the drought-affected farmers of Aurangabad district.

The fodder for animals as well as groceries and livestock will be given to the 500 needy farmers from the drought-affected Aurangabad district. For this, farmers from the Kawatha (Osmanabad district) have decided to keep the village mortgage.

A Social activist Vinayakrao Patil gave the information in this regard. He also said that there will be fasting unto death from November 3, for the farmers’ demands.

Vinayakrao Patil further said that by keeping the village mortgage, 500 villagers from Aurangabad will be given food, grocery and fodder on this Diwali. There is an intense drought in Marathwada. There are no crops in the farms, there is no money in the house. How to celebrate Diwali in such a situation as well as how to live are the biggest questions in front of farmers. The government has announced a scheme that does not help the farmers. Government just declaring the drought conditions instead of helping the farmers in the difficult situation.

Kisan Kranti Dushkal Parishad (Drought Conference):

For the right of the farmers Kisan Kranti Dushkal Parishad (Drought conference) has been organized on November 3 at Krantichowk.

The government should fulfil the demands made by the drought-affected farmers, otherwise, there will be hunger strike, and if the government wants to keep peace and order in the state, then accept the demands, said by Patil.

Vinayakrao Patil also demanded that the Chief Minister should give written assurance in court declare that he will resign from the post if he does not fulfil the demands.

What are the demands?

-a subsidy of 25 thousand rupees should be given to the drought-affected farmers.

-Complete debt waiver, give pension to the 60-year-old farmers dependent on agriculture.

-Give 40 rupees per litre price for cow’s milk.
