One of her friends told her about Balbhim, a faithful and responsible police officer. She told him about the bangles and how it got stolen. Balbhim assured her then he would help her. This gave Shantabai a ray of hope and she started visiting Balbhim at the police station every week to know of any updates.

Even after striving hard to find the thief, Balbhim was unsuccessful in finding him. But this sensitive police officers were not able to see Santabai’s condition and decided to gift her new gold bangles. Because of this goodwill, they now share a real emotional bond. Shantabai to show her thankful gesture gave a shreefal and flower to Balbhim.

 

Shantabai’s life tussle

Shantabai got married at the tender age of 14 years. Her husband was a bus driver. They were living a happy life for four years, but after then they started fighting constantly. And suddenly one day he left her. Nowhere to go, she knocked her parent’s doors. They took her in but denied her permission to remarry.

After her parents’ death, she was thrown out of the house by her brother. But she was a strong headed woman. She decided to stand on her own feet and since then she is living alone and on her own terms.
