Pune : NpNews24 OnlineTET Exam Scam | Former deputy secretary of the Department of Education Sushil Khodvekar (47) has been arrested by the Pune Cyber Police for accepting financial benefits in the TET exam scam and helping to remove the name of GA Software Technologies from the black list His bail plea was rejected by First Class Magistrate SJ Dolare.

Khodvekar had been arrested by the Cyber Police from Thane on January 29 and he is in judicial custody. He is accused of removing GA Software from the blacklist on the instructions of Tukaram Supe who wanted to reduce the immense pressure of the probe against him. Cyber Police station Police Inspector Kumar Ghadge is investigating the case.

Khodvekar’s bail plea was opposed by government advocate Vijay Singh Jadhav. He told the court that the crime is of serious nature. Lessons of ethics are taught in schools and the accused has spoiled the atmosphere.

The accused Ashwinkumar, Dr Pritish Deshmukh, Tukaram Supe and Abhishek Savarikar had entered into a conspiracy and committed the serious crime. It is clear from the phone records that the accused Khodvekar was in touch with them. The accused had committed irregularities worth crores by taking Rs 3 to 4 lakh from each student and declared them as competent for the posts.

The departmental inquiry against Tukaram Supe was conducted by Khodvekar and he was pressurised by Supe to go easy on him and remove GA Software from the black list. Khodvekar is a high ranking official and if he is granted bail, he may misuse his position to tamper with the evidence. Hence, the government advocate appealed to the court to reject his bail plea. After listening to the advocate’s arguments, the court rejected Khodvekar’s bail plea.
