Teaser of multi-starrer Marathi movie ‘Chowk’ launched by Hindustani Bhau; director Devendra Gaikwad’s film to be released on May 19

‘Chowk’, meaning crossroads or junction, is an indivisible part of our life. Celebrations, politics, pure friendship, love at ‘Chowk’, influence of social media on ‘Chowk’ are all a part of it. ‘Chowk’ has seen generations. It has witnessed fights. Stories related to all these are depicted in ‘Chowk’.
The star cast of the film comprises veteran actors as well as multifaceted young artistes. The highlights of the film are its realistic treatment; incidents that happen around us and dialogues that we hear daily. The teaser revealed this.
Music composer duo Sai-Piyush have given its exciting music. The subject matter of the movie being a junction, one sees many outdoor locations in it. They have been used very beautifully and minutely in the film. The trailer reveals high production values of the flick.
The stormy trailer of ‘Chowk’ shows offbeat looks and roles of Pravin Tarde, Upendra Limaye, Ramesh Pardeshi and quality acting by young actors such as Kiran Gaikwad, Shubhankar Ekbote, Akshay Tanksale and Sanskruti Balgude. Snehal Tarde portrays a sensitive woman. Gripping acting by Sunil Abhyankar, Anjali Jogalekar and Suresh Vishwakarma, praiseworthy role done by child artiste Aritra Devendra Gaikwad and the special appearance of director Devendra Gaikwad have deeply impacted the movie.
The grand teaser launch was graced by all artistes in the film and eminent personalities. Famous singer Vaishali Made, actor-director Prasad Oak, director Sanjay Jadhav, actor Smita Gondkar and other dignitaries were present. A video showing director Devendra Gaikwad being welcomed in the Directors’ Club by prominent Marathi film directors was screened on the ocassion. Lead actors narrated their relationship with ‘Chowk’.
The teaser was launched by Hindustani Bhau, Pravin Tarde, Sanajay Jadhav and film producer Dilip Patil.
Speaking on the occasion, Hindustani Bhau said, “The Marathi film world was grappling in the dark. However, these people have taken it to new heights again.”
In the concluding part of the event, Kiran Gaikwad donned the DJ hat and made the dignitaries and journalists dance to the numbers he played.
Dilip Lalasaheb Patil alias Tatya has produced ‘Chowk’ under the banner of Anuradha Productions. Project and production head is Mahavir Hore. Writer and director of the film is Devendra Gaikwad.
Devendra Gaikwad has played impactful roles in Marathi films such as ‘Deool Band’, ‘Mulshi Pattern’, ‘Baban’, ‘Rege’, ‘Dharmaveer’, ‘Sarsenapati Hambirrao’ and Hindi film ‘Tanhaji’.
Cine-goers are eager to see Devendra’s skills as a director now. ‘Chowk’ will be released in all theatres at crossroads across Maharashtra on May 19.
