Man dupes senior citizen of ₹59 lakh by pretending to be minister’s secretary; FIR registered against three persons

PUNE : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime News | Three persons cheated a senior citizen of ₹59 lakh by pretending to be secretary of minister of co-operation and promising to reduce the home loan amount and getting back his bungalow which had been auctioned. (Pune Crime News)

 

A 59-year-old citizen has lodged a complaint (288/23) at the Yerawada police station. Accordingly, the police have registered an FIR against Gorakh Tanpure (40), Vishal Pawar (35), both residents of Pune, Gagan Keshav Rahandgale (38), a resident of Nagpur. The incident took place at Kalyani Nagar from October 2021 till now.

 

According to the police, the complainant is a retired person and his are earning good salaries in private companies. He had taken a loan of ₹4 crore rom HDFC Bank to buy a bungalow at Kalyani Nagar. However, during the coronavirus pandemic, some instalments were not paid. Hence, the bank had sent a notice to him about the auction of his bungalow. Gorakh Tanpure and Vishal Pawar introduced Gagan Rahandgale to the complainant as the secretary of minister of co-operation.

 

Rahandgale told the complainant that he will get his bank loan reduced and will ensure that his house, which had been auctioned, is returned to him and transfer money through RTGS to different accounts.

 

The complainant withdrew ₹59 lakh from his account with a bank in Kalyani Nagar and gave it to him. Despite this, Rahandgale did not do his work and did not do anything to return his auctioned house to him. When the complainant demanded his money, he gave evasive replies. Later, he approached the police and lodged a complaint. API Ravindra Alekar is probing the case.
