Sex racket busted at lodge in Yerwada

Sleuths from the social security cell (SSC) of Pune city police Crime Branch have busted a prostitution racket at a lodge in Yerwada.

Police said that women from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar were brought here and forced in the sex racket.

Police have rescued two women and arrested two agents including a woman. The owner of the lodge Hotel Gokul Residency, Firoj Mukeri, is absconding.

According to police, the accused persons used to ask people coming to stay at the lodge and provide girls. After getting a tipoff, police raided the lodge on Friday. Police have arrested the woman agent and her accomplice Mikeshkumar Vasantbhai Luhar (33). An FIR has been registered against them with Yerwada police station.

The raid was conducted under the supervision of Crime Branch Additional Commissioner of Police Pradeep Deshpande, DCP Shirish Sardeshpande, ACP Bhanu Pratap Barge by a team led by inspector Manisha Zende, PSI Anant Vyavhare, and police personnel Raju Gogre, Lohkare, Jadhav, Tushar Alhat, Telange, and Chandgude.
