Rains to continue for few more days in Pune 

Np News 24 Pune: The city witnessed heavy rainfall in the early hours of Thursday.  The rains are expected to continue for another few days.  Around 25 mm of rainfall was recorded in Shivajinagar area till 8:30 am, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD officials have stated that the rainfall will continue for another few days.  “Under the influence of a low pressure system formed off Goa-Karnataka coast and a system prevailing to the south of Andhra
Pradesh, rainfall over the State will remain heightened till Friday,” IMD officials said.
IMD has warned of very heavy rainfall in the Ghat areas of the region.  According to Skymet, “A Cyclonic Circulation is over Madhya Maharashtra and a Trough is extending from Northeast Arabian Sea to Bay of Bengal across Maharashtra and Telangana. These systems will give moderate to heavy rains over North Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa. Whereas, rains over Vidarbha, Marathwada and many parts of Madhya Pradesh will be light to moderate with one or two heavy spells. South Chhattisgarh and South Gujarat may see scattered light to moderate rains.”
The statement also said that Mumbai may receive moderate to heavy spells which may lead to typical Monsoon conditions over here and would result in waterlogging and traffic chaos. Nashik, Pune, Malegaon, Nagpur and Akola are likely to witness good rains.  The cities in western Maharashtra are receiving heavy rainfall in September.
