State Assembly polls: Gadkari says our alliance with Sena will happen

Np News 24 Nagpur: Maharashtra is going to witness State Assembly elections this year. Many parties are announcing their alliances and candidates. There have been few speculations whether the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena will come to together to form an alliance like the Lok Sabha polls or they will contest elections separately.
Shiv Sena cheif Uddhav Thackeray had said that they will have alliance with the BJP on 50-50 seat sharing basis. However, there were rumours that the BJP wants more seats.  When asked about the situation, Union Minister Nitin Gadjari said that the BJP will contest the polls in alliance with Shiv Sena for sure.
Gadkari said this while addressing the ‘Vidarbha Vijay Sankalp’ meeting. “The workers if the party should stick to the party ideology. They should stand with the party’s alliance. I believe that BJP-Shiv Sena alliance will happen for sure,” Gadkari said.
The Union minister added that the BJP workers should work hard to win the forthcoming State Assembly elections and help Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in winning more Assembly seats than before and come back to power.
“Our party did not start the journey to gain power. It started the journey to change the society and to keep democracy alive,” Gadkari told the BJP workers.  During the same meet, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said, “There will be an alliance between the BJP and the Shiv Sena. There are no difference between us.”
However he added, “There is nothing wrong in Diwakar Raote asking for 144 seats. During the Lok Sabha polls, the 50-50 seat sharing was decided by BJP President Amit Shah, CM Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.”
