R Ashwin traps Australia in a spin web by taking 3 wickets, Australia trails by 59 runs with 3 wickets in hand

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE –After a kind of bizarre performance by India’s top four in first innings, Indian bowler did what they were expected to do. India’s lone spin worrier of the match R Ashwin performed outstandingly to take 3 wickets and that too of Australia’s top order batsmen. On a track which had bounce and was supporting fast bowler, Ashwin bowled brilliantly. While Jaspreet Bumrah and Ishant Sharma took 2 wickets each and Shami went wicketless but even he bowled on the right spots.

India’s last wicket on day 2 fell on the very first ball of the day and then India started bowling. The fast and experience Ishant took the wicket of Aron Finch in the 2nd over, he edged the ball on to his stumps.

Just like India Australia also lost wickets at regular interval but the Australian batsmen gulled themselves on the crease. First, the partnership between Handscomb and Head took Australia close to India’s score and then came the vital partnership between Cummins and Head. Head is still 61 while Starc is on the other end.

If Australia managed to score even as much as end scored then this match will tilt towards Australia as then India will have to face Lion in the 3rd innings and if they could post a big total then Australia will seal the game.

A point here to mention is the Australian batsmen scored slower than anything in this world at the end of the day they didn’t even cross 200 marks and they played 90 overs. Which means their run rate was 2 runs per over. Not just that the batsmen were afraid to take on part-time bowler like Murli Vijay who bowled some maiden overs. Even India yesterday scored at a rate of 2.5 per over, so this suggests that the pitch is tough to bat on. And the bowlers are bowling really good.
