Pune: In a significant breakthrough, the Anti-Extortion Squad One of the Pune Police Crime Branch successfully apprehended a fugitive who had been on the run for two years after being booked under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). The accused, identified as Sidram alias Abhi Ramesh Manjili (24), was arrested by police from Solapur, culminating in an intensive search operation spanning multiple jurisdictions.

The accused, who had been absconding since facing charges under IPC sections 307, 504, 506, and 34, along with offences under the Arms Act, was elevated to the purview of the MCOCA Act due to the gravity of the charges against him.
