Pune: Violent Confrontation! Group Assaults Youth and Chosen Sister in Hadapsar, Four Detained

Pune: In anger over a dispute between a few people over teasing the chosen sister of a man, a group of five men assaulted a youth and his chosen sister with sharp weapons and attempted to kill them. Hadapsar Police have arrested four people in this case. This incident took place on Tuesday, March 12, at Khandoba Mal in the Fursungi area.

In this regard, Sumedh Sandeep Gavai, a resident of Khandoba Mal, Fursungi, has filed a police complaint at Hadapsar police station. Taking serious note of this complaint, police immediately apprehended Amol Govind Gaikwad, Nitin Dhondiba More, Anirudh Mahadev More, Akash Ramhari Hajgude, and Dharam Nivritti Gaikwad. All the accused have been booked by Hadapsar Police under IPC 307, 143, 147, 149, the Maharashtra Police Act, the Arms Act, and the Criminal Law Amendment Act.

As per the police information, one of the accused molested the plaintiff’s chosen sister in the village yatra of Fursungi village. For this reason, the accused and the plaintiff had an altercation earlier. On Tuesday, the plaintiff and his friend Swapnil Bhalerao had gone to drink tea near the Khandoba Mal railway gate.

At that time, the accused and his few companions came there, and within no time, they unleashed a heavy assault on the victim and his chosen sister with sharp weapons. Furthermore, the accused also attempted to terrorise the area by brandishing their weapons in the air. In this case, Police Inspector Umesh Gite is spearheading further investigation.
