Pune PMC News | Now, garbage in Pune will be cleared on time as PMC decides to use modern technology

PUNE : Pune PMC News | The civic administration has decided to use modern technology to track some of its employees who are work shirkers. The tracking of cleaning staff and garbage vans is being done on a trial basis at Aundh, Baner and Balewadi. This will be extended to all parts of the city in phases.

The civic body employs a large number of cleaning staff. It is becoming difficult to manage so many employees on a day to day basis. Against this background, the civic administration has decided to use modern technology to ensure optimum utilisation of its manpower in the solid waste department by tracking its employees.

As a part of this scheme, a GPS-based band will be tied on the wrists of all employees when they are on duty. From the control room, it will be possible to find out where an employee is working or where he has gone. A watch will be also kept to track the movements of garbage vans. The scheme has been started on a trial basis at Aundh, Baner and Balewadi and in the next two months, it will be started all over the city.
