Pune: Person smashes a man’s head and kills him after a minor argument; arrested

Pune: A 45-year-old man was killed after a person smashed his head with a rock in Kondhwa. The victim was identified as Gyanoba Gangadhar Dhange (45). Police have arrested Atish Suresh Vaidande (23) in the case. A case has been registered at Kondhwa police station. According to police, the body was found near a water tank in Kondhwa in a pool of blood.

Upon receiving this information, Kondhwa Police and Crime Branch officers rushed to the spot. Meanwhile, a team of Crime Branch Unit 5 was searching for the accused. Hemant Patil, a senior crime branch inspector, had received information that Atish Vaidande had committed the murder. Upon interrogation, he confessed to the murder to the police.

The accused and the deceased knew each other and were together on Monday night. Upon a minor argument, the deceased threw stones at Atish Vaidande’s two-wheeler. Raged by this, the accused smashed the victim’s head with a big rock and killed him. The victim succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The accused then fled the scene after all this. But police arrested him within five hours and uncovered the murder. This action was taken by the team of Senior Police Inspector Hemant Patil, Police Constables Morale, Kalbhor, Jogdand, Shivle, Dalvi, Khandare, Shegar.
