Pune News | Middle-Aged Patient’s Life Saved After Complex Heart Procedure in Pune

Pune : Pune News | Manik Patil, a middle-aged individual, recently experienced a life-threatening situation when he suffered from an acute heart attack. Initially on the verge of diabetes, Patil suddenly felt excruciating chest pain accompanied by profuse sweating. He was promptly admitted to a hospital in Pune, where doctors diagnosed him with non-ST elevation myocardial infarction, a type of heart attack. Patil’s relatives were initially reluctant to proceed with heart bypass surgery, but the medical team successfully inserted six stents to restore blood flow to his heart, ultimately saving his life.

Dr. Satyajit Suryavanshi, a cardiologist at Sanjeevan Vitalife Medipoint Hospital, explained that Patil had significant blockages in the arteries supplying blood to his heart. As a result, the left side, responsible for blood circulation to the heart, had weakened due to restricted blood flow. The medical team prioritized the stabilization of Patil’s condition after his cardiac arrest and administered decongestive therapy. The following day, Patil underwent a thorough examination of his main arteries, which revealed major blockages.

Considering Patil’s age, the medical team opted to implant a stent in his heart to ensure his long-term well-being. Remarkably, Patil’s condition improved within three days, leading to his discharge from the hospital. Thanks to the early diagnosis and effective treatment provided by the medical staff, Patil has been able to resume his daily activities. The patient’s swift recovery can be attributed to the quality medical care and collaborative efforts of the intensive care unit team.
