Pune: Man Accused of Fake Marriage Proposal, Forcing Abortion, Faces Legal Action For Sexual Exploitation Of Girl in Hadapsar

Pune: A person living in Sasanenagar, Hadapsar, repeatedly assaulted a 30-year-old girl sexually by luring her with a fake marriage proposal. Astonishingly, when the girl became pregnant, he allegedly forced her to have an abortion and refused to marry her. This shocking incident came to light in Yerawada, where the victim girl filed a complaint against the accused yesterday.

As per the police information, the victim woman had a business in event management. However, due to some problems, the plaintiff had to stop her business and was forced to do a job. Hence, in need of a job, she started working as a sales manager for a private company in Pune.

In the office, she met with the accused, Nikhil Raghunath Bhanuse, as he was also working for the same company. After initial acquaintance with each other, the accused proposed to the girl for marriage, and they started dating each other. Meanwhile, Nikhil went to Thane, as he got a job at a bank in Thane district.

The girl mentioned in the complaint that every time the accused would come to Pune, he kept physical relations with the plaintiff, citing a fake marriage promise. However, whenever she was talking to him about marriage, he kept giving vague responses to her questions about marriage. This was going on from May 2022 until January 2024.

Meanwhile, the accused got pregnant. After learning about this, the accused forcibly asked her to have an abortion and started distancing himself from her thereafter. When the plaintiff asked the accused’s father about Nikhil, they informed her that they were looking for a girl for his marriage.

After that, when the girl asked Nikhil Bhanuse for a marriage, he put down his promise, citing frivolous reasons of family pressure. Felling betrayed, the plaintiff girl filed a police complaint against the accused at Yerawada Police Station.

Acting on the complaint, the police booked the accused under IPC 376, 376/2/N, 417, and 504. Yerawada Police are conducting further investigation in this case.
