Pune lone woman teacher molested, assaulted on road

NPNEWS24 Online : Pune – A 25-year-old woman teacher has registered FIR with Chatushrungi police station that she was molested and brutally assaulted by two youths around 2.20 am on Sunday in Baner.

The arrested accused persons have been identified as Avinash Rajendra Dhankude (21) and Shekhar Changdev Kalamkar (22), both residents of Baner.

According to police, the woman resides in Erandwane and had come for party at a restaurant and bar in Baner. After the party was she was going to a friend’s place on her two-wheeler when the youths who were on bike, molested her on the road opposite Baner telephone exchange. The woman stopped and called her friend. Meanwhile the accused persons again came to her and molested and assaulted her. They banged her face on the two-wheeler.

Her friend reached and called police who also arrived and nabbed the accused persons.

Police have booked the accused persons for offences under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult) and 354 (outraging modesty of woman) under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Assistant Police Inspector Dattatray Shinde is investigating the case.
