Pune | Engineer stabs neighbour to death over petty matter in Katraj

Pune : NpNews24 Online – An engineer stabbed a person to death over a minor dispute at Sukhsagar Nagar 2 (Pune) on Monday morning. The accused stabbed the victim in his chest. The reason behind the murder puzzled even the police.

The victim has been identified as Sharad Sitaram Puri (39), a resident of Sukhsagar Nagar 2, Katraj. Sachin Vitthal Kapatkar (46), a resident of Sukhsagar Nagar 2, Katraj, has been arrested after Bharat Sitaram Puri (39) lodged a complaint at the Bibvewadi police station in this connection.

According to the police, the accused and the complainant are neighbours. The complainant’s new house is being built at the spot. Some construction material fell on a car and inside the compound wall of Sachin Kapatkar’s bungalow. The accused and the complainant’s brother had an argument over the matter. The accused abused the victim and stabbed a knife in his left chest. Sharad was seriously injured and died. The accused also threatened the complainant’s wife with the knife. The accused, Kapatkar, is an electrical engineer and is currently unemployed.

Senior police officials, including DCP Namrata Patil, ACP Rajendra Galande, Senior PI Sunil Zaware, PI (Crime) Anita Hivarkar rushed to the spot.
