Pune crime | Youth held by crime branch officials for stealing iPhone of cyclist

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune crime | A youth who had stolen the costly mobile of a citizen who had gone for a cycle ride in the morning was arrested by officials of unit one of the Pune police crime branch. An iPhone worth Rs 65,000 was seized from the accused. The action was taken on Wednesday opposite Vinay High School in Bhavani Peth. (Pune crime)

 

The accused has been identified as Rupesh Manoj Kshirsagar (24), a resident of opposite Vinay High School, Bhavani Peth, Pune. An FIR has been lodged at the Hadapsar police station. The complainant was cycling on the Hadapsar bridge towards Solapur Road when three unidentified persons chased him on a two-wheeler and stole his iPhone.

 

When the officials of unit one team were tracing the accused, a policeman came to know that the accused in the mobile theft case, Rupesh Kshirsagar, was standing in front of Vinay High School in Bhavani Peth. The police nabbed him after laying a trap. When he was searched, an iPhone worth Rs 65,000 was found. When he was questioned, he admitted stealing it from the Hadapsar bridge. The accused has been handed over to the Hadapsar police.

 

The action was taken by a team of police officials including senior PI Sandeep Bhosale, PSI Sanjay Gaikwad, PSI Ajay Jadhav, policemen Ajay Thorat, Nilesh Sable, Rahul Makhre, Amol Pawar, Imran Shaikh, Datta Sonawane, Aniket Babar, Shashikant Darekar and Abhinav Ladkat under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge and ACP Gajanan Tompe.
