Notorious vehicle thief arrested by crime branch, 9 two-wheelers seized

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime |  A vehicle thief has been arrested by the unit 6 of the Pune police crime branch. The arrested thief is a notorious criminal and the police have seized nine two-wheelers worth Rs 4 lakh 50 thousand from him. He has stolen these two-wheelers from various police stations in Pune district. (Pune Crime)

 

The accused has been identified as Samadhan Ganpat Jagtap (28), a resident of Yavat in Daund taluka. The action was taken in the limits of Lonikand police station on July 12. Since the incidents of vehicle thefts were increasing in Pune city, a team of unit six was searching for the vehicle thieves. They got information that a criminal on police records, Samadhan Jagtap has a stolen two-wheeler without a number plate.

 

The team laid a trap and apprehended Samadhan Jagtap with his two-wheeler. When he was grilled, he admitted stealing the two-wheeler from the limits of Yavat police station. He further admitted to stealing vehicles from the limits of Lonikand police station. He was questioned in detail after seeking his police custody till July 15. He handed over eight two-wheelers which he had stolen.

 

The accused, Samadhan Jagtap, has brought to light nine crimes registered in Kothrud, Chandan Nagar, Lonikand, Loni Kalbhor, Kondhwa, Alankar, Hadapsar, Talegaon Dabhade and Yavat police stations.

 

The action was taken by a team of police officials including PI Ganesh Mane, API Narendra Patil, PSI Bhairavnath Shelke, policemen Machchindra Walke, Vitthal Khedkar, Kanifnath Karkhele, Ramesh Memane, Balasaheb Sakte, Prateek Lahigude, Nitin Shinde, Hrishikesh Tilekar, Shekhar Kate, Sachin Pawar, Hrishikesh Takwane, Hrishikesh Vyahare, Nitin Dhadge, Jyoti Kale and Suhas Tambekar under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge and ACP Narayan Shirgaonkar.
