Pune Crime News | 31-year-old man from Kolhapur met a woman on Jeevansathi & on the pretext of marriage sexually assaulted her, case registered at Hinjewadi police station
Pune: Pune Crime News | A woman from Hinjewadi in Pune was sexually assaulted by a 31-year-old man from Kolhapur on the pretext of marriage. Both the accused and victim introduced each other on a matrimonial site Jeevansathi . com and became friendly to each other. The man broke his promise of marriage and got married to another woman. The victim had lodged a case about it at Hinjewadi police station.
A police officer from Hinjewadi police station said, ” The victim and the accused got to know each other on a matrimonial site Jeevansathi . com. After getting to know each other the accused called the victim to meet him. The victim went to meet the accused and there he forcefully sexually assaulted her on the pretext of marriage. But he cheated the victim by marrying another girl in July 2023. The sexual assault took place between 14th October 2021 and 19th December 2021 in Vashi area of Navi Mumbai. The victim woman lodged a case with us on Sunday, 23rd July, 2023 against the accused identified as Avinash Shivaji Patil. When the victim asked the accused about marrying another girl he abused the victim and said that she can do what she wants to do. We have registered the case against Patil and are further investigating the case.
