Pune Railway Division | Pune Railway Division Opens Extra Counters to Ease Ticket Reservation Woes

Pune: Pune Railway Division | In a proactive move to address the inconvenience caused to passengers due to a technical glitch on the IRCTC PRS ticket booking website, the Pune railway division of Central Railway took swift action and opened an additional counter on Tuesday, July 25. The decision was taken to ease the passenger ticket reservation process and cater to the expected rush at the booking counters.

The IRCTC PRS ticket booking website experienced a technical issue from 02.56 hrs to 13.28 hrs on July 25, resulting in an unexpected 11-hour shutdown. This unexpected disruption left several passengers across the country in distress as they were unable to book tickets during the outage period.

Anticipating the surge in demand at the physical booking counters after the website’s restoration, the railway authorities acted proactively and opened an extra counter at two significant PRS locations within the Pune division of Central Railway.

Here are the details of the additional PRS counters:

1. Pune: The existing 7 counters were augmented with an additional 1 counter, making a total of 8 counters now operational at Pune station. The move aims to expedite the ticket reservation process for the passengers in the bustling city.

2. Kolhapur: Kolhapur station, another crucial location within the Pune division, saw the addition of 1 extra counter, supplementing the existing 2 counters. With a total of 3 counters now functional, Kolhapur station is better equipped to handle ticket reservation requests efficiently.
