Pune Cantonment Board to use ‘this’ method to destroy accumulated wastes

NP NEWs 24 ONLINE- Pune city has always been appreciated for its efforts in trying to keep the city and green and clean if compared to other cities.

Now, to curb and destroy the waste accumulated in the 28 acre land of Pune Cantonment Board in Hadapsar, board administration has invented a new technology. The camping of such wastes is being carried out by means of a scientific procedure.

To manage the solid waste accumulated in the Lashkar area a waste project is being prepared. After the completion of project, the problem of dumping waste in open will be resolved.

Maharastra’s Nagar department has ordered Board’s Hadapsar Industrial Estate area to find a space in one year for waste depot. The solid wastes dumped which are dumped currently have been ordered to be destroyed within three months as per the solid waste management rule.

Keeping in mind the rule set, the board has started working on the management of old accumulated wastes by using scientific method through camping of wastes. For this, an outline or layout has been made by the administration and an advisor has been appointed for the further procedure of tender. This tender was passed in a general meeting of board in the month of October.

Apart from this, board has also sent a proposal to work on accumulation of solid wastes in Lashkar area. Board’s chief in charge Dr DN Yadav said that after completion of the camping procedure, wastes won’t be dumped in open.

After working on the dumped wastes, the fuel or Refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and compost obtained from the wastes will be converted into fertilizers. And, on the areas of camping, green grass will be grown.

It is a great initiative taken by authorities towards a clean Pune!
