1048 crores 22 lakh rupees expenditure on metro between Pimpri to Nigdi

PIMPRI: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- Now, the metro track which was from Swargate to Pimpri will be expanded from Pimpri to Nigdi, for such, a detailed layout plan has been prepared by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited Company.

To give this a green signal, Municipal Corporation of Pune will be keeping this proposal in front of the members in a meeting of the standing committee on Tuesday.

After getting a green signal from standing committee, the proposal will be kept in front of associated report General Board (GB) and after it gets passed, it will be then further presented to state and central government. For the completion of this extended metro plan, there is a total expense estimation of around 48 Crore 22 lakh rupees.

Keeping in mind, to control the public traffic system, Pune-Mumbai Highway has started the construction of Metro. After the delay in Metro work due to monsoon and festive season, the construction of Metro has started with full-fledge and lot of tracks are laid for metro across the city and the work is under process.

In the city of Pimpri-Chinchwad, the metro work has started with full force right from Dopai Harris pool to Chinchwad’s Mother Teresa Flyover on the grade separator in Pune-Mumbai’s old highway. This difference is of 8 km.

On the demand of citizens, Municipal Corporation took this decision. To expand the metro tracks up to Nigdi was demanded by citizens along with students, workers and public representatives.

As per the demands, Municipal Corporation commissioner Sharvan Hardikar had ordered Mahametro Rail Corporation Limited to prepare a Direct Project Planning (DPR) in order to expand the work up to Nigdi. Followed by which, Mahametro had prepared the DPR within 6 months with the help of company.
