Pune: Builder cheats retd ACP of Rs 32 lakhs

NPnews24 Online : Pune – A retired Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) has lodged an FIR with Pune city police alleging that he was duped of Rs 32 lakhs by a builder under pretext of constructing his row house.

Prakash George (63) of Ghatkopar, Mumbai, has lodged the complaint with Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. Police have booked the accused builder Babaji Jadhav of Dhankawadi.

According to police, George has retired from Mumbai Police. Since 2011, Jadhav had taken Rs 32 lakhs from George for building his row house in Katraj. However, even after eight years row house is not completed. Hence, George filed complaint with police.

The accused Jadhav has been booked for offence under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Ownership of Flat Act (MOFA) and sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
