Police to charge Rs 75 lakhs for ODI cricket bandobast in Mumbai, Rs 70 lakhs for T20

MUMBAI – NP NEWS NETWORK-The Maharashtra government has increased the fee for providing police security for cricket matches in the state. In Mumbai, the per match charges will be Rs 70 lakhs for T20, Rs 75 lakhs for one day international (ODI) and Rs 60 lakhs for test match.

Similarly, in Pune, Navi Mumbai and Nagpur, the rates for police bandobast has been fixed at Rs 50 lakhs for T20 and One Day International matches and Rs 40 lakhs for test match.

In 2017-18, the government had fixed a uniform slab rate for providing police security for IPL and One Day International (ODI) games. In Mumbai, the charges were Rs 66 lakh, whereas for Tests, it was Rs 55 lakh. In Nagpur, Pune and Navi Mumbai, the charges were Rs 44 lakh and Rs 38.5 lakh per match for IPL and Tests respectively.

In 2016, the charges were Rs 60 lakh for T20 and ODI in Mumbai, whereas for Tests, it was Rs 50 lakh. IPL matches held in Nagpur, Pune and Navi Mumbai were charged Rs 40 lakh while for Tests, it was Rs 35 lakh.
