Number of posts of engineers and others will be increased in PMC following villages’ merger: Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune PMC Recruitment | With the inclusion of 34 villages in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the number of posts in some categories, including engineers, will have to be increased. The state government will be intimated in this regard soon. Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar said soon the recruitment process will be implemented for about 300 posts in other departments, including fire brigade, doctors, health inspector, electrical engineer.

The recruitment process for over 400 posts in the Municipal Corporation has been completed recently. These included the posts of engineer, clerk, encroachment inspector, legal assistant officer, etc. After conducting this recruitment process transparently, the administration has started the roster check for the recruitment of the remaining posts. Accordingly, the roster inspection will be completed in the first week of January and the recruitment announcement will be made by January 10, said Vikram Kumar.

Kumar said that 34 villages have been included in the municipal corporation. The employees of the gram panchayats will be absorbed into the service of the Municipal Corporation. This process has reached the final stage. But there are no engineers and other similar posts in the gram panchayats, which is putting a strain on the municipal system. Our efforts are on to make the posts in these categories available as compared to the population. Accordingly, the work is going on to collect details in which sector there is a need to increase the number of posts. While doing this, the decision to increase the posts will be taken after ensuring that not more than 35 percent of the budget of the municipal corporation is spent on the salaries and accordingly the proposal will be sent to the government for approval. Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Binwade was present.

Kishori Shinde and Yunus Pathan have been promoted as Deputy Commissioners
The decision to promote both the Assistant Municipal Commissioner of Sports Department Kishori Shinde and the Assistant Municipal Commissioner of Encroachment Department Yunus Pathan to the posts of Deputy Commissioners was taken in the DPC meeting today. Soon the proposal in this regard will be approved through the Standing Committee, said Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar.
