Civic chief approves time-bound promotions of PMC employees

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) | Deputy Municipal Commissioner Sachin Ethape said the proposal for time-bound promotions of employees and officers of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been approved by Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar and the circular has been issued. Around 6,000 employees of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will benefit from this. (Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC))

 

Earlier the time-bound promotions were done as per 6th Pay Commission. But now promotions have been made according to the 7th Pay Commission. Six thousand employees can benefit from this. The administration has clarified that only the salary will be increased according to the time-bound promotion, post will remain the same.

 

In order to provide benefit of this to the employees, each case will be placed before the Promotion Committee. The benefit will be given to the concerned officers and employees after approval by this committee. Apart from this, the administration has also clarified that other terms, conditions and criteria will be applicable while getting the promotion.

 

Even after working in the PMC for many years, the employees do not get promotions due to some technical reasons. As a result, the employees remain deprived of their position and salary. Two steps were taken to resolve this issue. Employees who completed 12 years and 24 years of service were given pay increments according to their service. Although the post was the same, the employees started getting increased wages. This rule was implemented in the year 1994 and was amended in the year 2003. As per the 7th Pay Commission, the government made three steps instead of two from 2016. Phases of 10 years, 20 years and 30 years were created. Accordingly, the proposal was placed before the Municipal Commissioner, Ithape mentioned that it was approved.

 

The next phase of recruitment is next month

– Kishori Shinde and Yunus Pathan, who were working as Joint Municipal Commissioners, have been promoted to the post of Deputy Commissioners.
– The employees availing the benefit of 12 and 24 scheme earlier will have to wait to get the benefit as per time bound promotion
– The next phase of recruitment will start next month. Three hundred seats will be filled in this.
These include various posts in fire brigade, health inspector, electrical engineer, doctors etc.

 

Staff members are less as compared to the population – Commissioner
As the number of officers and employees in the Municipal Corporation is less than the population, a separate proposal for increasing the cadres will be sent to the state government, said Commissioner Vikram Kumar.

 

While sending this proposal, it should be necessary to see that the cost of establishment will not be more in the total cost. Also, 600 employees from merged villages will become permanent in service.
