We are boycotting the proceedings of the House – Rohit Pawar

Nagpur : NpNews24 Online  –  The mood of the assembly session has once again changed over the Maharashtra-Karnataka border issue. Karnataka on Thursday passed a resolution against Maharashtra. It is said that it will not give even an inch of space to Maharashtra. There were angry reactions to this in the Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly on Friday. The opposition parties demanded a discussion on this issue. But after rejection of the demand, MLAs boycotted the proceedings. Rohit Pawar has provided details on this.

“The Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute must be resolved. But the opposition is not allowed to speak on any issue in the assembly. Discussion is not conducted on any topic. We want to raise the issues of youths, students, farmers in the assembly. We want to raise the issues of Maharashtra’s identity and border areas. But if we are not allowed to speak in the Assembly, and if our Leader of the Opposition is raising his voice in the House, and he is being opposed, then we don’t want to participate in the proceedings,” said Rohit Pawar.

The manner in which this government is behaving is condemnable. MLAs of the ruling party are protesting in front of their own party speaker. This has never happened in any assembly till date. A girl named Disha Salian committed suicide. Her mother has said, don’t politicize my daughter’s death. However, the ruling party is politicizing the issue in the assembly. Due to this, issues which are important for people are sidelined, Pawar said.

“On Thursday, the Karnataka state assembly passed a resolution against Maharashtra. But MLAs, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister of the ruling party in Maharashtra did utter a word about it. Therefore, we are boycotting the proceedings of the House,” Pawar explained.
